Insane Bike Rider

As I was coming home tonight I saw this insane bike rider coming down the street. It is about 15 below with the wind chill and it is likely much worse with the wind in your face as you pedal, I am certain.

Anyone who rides their bicycle in this type of weather ought to be committed or commended, I can't tell which.

I went to my kids Christmas play last night and as we left the temp was below zero with a slight wind and it was crazy cold. As we left we saw two runners and thought the same thing as you.

Also the act of riding a bike in the City of Chicago is dangerous enough during the day, so at night it is even crazier.

Man I feel sorry for you sometimes in Madison because no matter how cold it is here it is always worse where you are, and that damn wind you have off the lakes near Madison is strong.

We got BURIED here on tues/wed, 19 inches of snow, then the arctic wind/cold froze the roads so we are basically driving on snowpack. It is still mayhem up here with lots of school closings and even closed roads. I don't think it has been this bad since I have lived here.

At least we warm up around 30 this weekend and they can salt the crap out of the roads and start to get things back to normal.

As expected a less than stellar picture from Carl. Were you so cold you couldn't keep the camera still?

I saw three Chicago Police Officers on bikes yesterday in downtown Chicago.

haha someone else to knock Carl's photography skillz

BTDT. It's easy to bike/run comfortably in extremely cold weather as long as you prepare for it, but it's a hassle. Winter sucks.

Re Carl's photo skills. He has the eye but he doesn't give a shit. I can see why it bothers some people.

Carl either takes a spectacular photo or totally shitty one. Therre never seems to be a middle ground.

As far as running/biking in the cold I can run much easier than bike in the cold. The increased speed/wind for me makes biking below 60 impossible. But that is just me.
