One of the favorite activities was just sitting in a lawn chair and plinking away.
Of course food was there. For appetizers we got sweet corn dipped in an immense pot of butter - this was county fair blue ribbon stuff, very yummy.
I had to try my shotgun on a shoot 'n see.
The main blast of pellets went right through the target board.
And we had some awesome Polish sausages as a main course. Can't beat it with the onions and kraut on there.
All in all, it was an absolutely perfect day. I would like to thank Gerry and his family once again for the use of their property and for the chow. The Second Amendment was celebrated properly in Indiana this day.As I was getting ready to leave I was almost a bit overcome by the pride I had in being a gun owner and being a part of the community of gun owners. I just stood by myself for a few minutes enjoying the warmth of the sun and soaking in what appears to be one of the last warm days of this year.
On the way home in the car I began the process of steeling myself for the long winter months - looking forward to next years Gunstock 3.

Those "Shoot n See" targets are big fun!
I like the dartboard ones that have different colors in each ring the closer you get to the bulls eye. Each ring has a point value, so you shoot for scoring to win. It's a dang fun game.
You'll have to ask the guy who made the spinner to make a dueling tree for your next Gunstock. That's a fun little way to play, too.
I noticed some of the leaves are changing in Valpo already...here, too.
Hunker down, Dan...you're right - it's coming.
