Good Advertising and The Best In The World

In South Haven, MI is the Sherman Dairy Bar. It is right against the Sherman Ice Cream Factory. I love the blue cow on top, and it advertises one of their flavors. We went inside and the place is pretty spartan, but was doing a banging business for ice cream. We were told to go here by a friend who is from the area.

Certain things seem to be only getting so good to me and ice cream is one of them. Don't get me wrong, the Sherman ice cream was bonkers good, but so is Coldstone Creamery, and a number of other places. I just think it can only get to a certain level.

Sort of like steak. I have eaten at many of the famous steakhouses such as Ruth's Chris, Charley's, the Chicago Chop House, and many others and feel that steak just only goes "this high" and the rest is dressing. Saying something like a certain ice cream place or steak joint has the "best" in the world doesn't have so much meaning to me anymore.

As of late I am all about ethnic food (is that word still politically correct?) and making stuff at home that is superior to the best restaurants. And doing it on the cheap.

And I thought large fiberglass merchandising creatures were only found at tourist attractions in Wisconsin. Who knew?
