I have written several posts about Miller Park in the past. It is a wonderful cathedral of baseball. Gigantic parking lot for tailgating, super wide concourses, plenty of bathrooms, clean, great sight lines, retractable roof, tons of stuff for kids to do, you name it. I really can't say enough about the place. Miller Park is everything I wish Soldier Field could be - but isn't. As a matter of fact, I wonder if they intentionally did the "anti-plan" on Soldier Field. Did the engineers sit down and wonder how they could make it the least fan friendly experience? It really does make you wonder.
I just received an email from the Brewers and on summer weekends when the team is on the road they will be doing a drive in theater. In their enormous parking lots, they will be erecting a giant movie screen, and they will pipe the sound in through your car's radio. They will let you in one hour before the movies start. There are already some bathrooms outside and they are going to open those up for people to use. $20 gets your car in there, but any car with more than two people in it has to puke up and extra fiver per person. Still, a great value for a double feature and an interesting way for the team to make some more money where usually the stadium just sits empty. Also, this is great PR, and a neat way to bring back a long lost piece of Americana, the drive in movie.
