One item I really miss is true Texas barbecue. For a brief while I lived down in Houston and I enjoyed the traditional "hole in the wall" spot (usually with a linoleum counter and a few tables) where they'd serve various meats and a slice of white bread.
While passing through the Houston airport I had to stop at Pappas and get some sliced brisket. It was GOOD. Don't know why someone doesn't bring this chain up north - it can't cost much to get started.

Good God I wish we had decent bar-b-que joints up here. Serve it on paper plates, I don't care.
