On the way back, I decided to take a photo of the Missouri Tap. I have driven past this place many, many times, but have never stopped in. I will someday. Note the bike rack out front. I have seen many a biker enjoying a beer or bloody mary there.
Also note the PBR sign. As of late I have seen many of my local watering holes are offering PBR on tap. I guess the retroness of it is pretty cool, but that beer is really, really bad.On the retro beer front, I saw that they are going to be bringing back Schlitz, in its original recipe from the sixties (that is the beer that made Milwaukee famous). Here is the link from the Beer Advocate. I am so happy that they kept the wonderful Schlitz script on the bottle. It has to be more full bodied than most of the current mass produced "corn waters" as I like to call the Buds and Miller Lites of the world. I think I will try a sixer just for fun someday.
Look what I found - I should throw a party where everyone has to come dressed like this:
Hope you enjoyed this Tour, I will probably do it again next year.

PBR is swill. I wrote a post once saying that it should have an excise tax.
Your tour was very cool and we should set up a party like that. Would be like your white trash party.
I am pretty serious about having a party like that. It would be cool to see all the guys and girls dressed up like in the video complete with bartender with red jacket. I checked the liquor store today, no Schlitz original recipe yet, hopefully soon though.
The Tour had an edge this time. The backdrop of global-warming-based insect eco-horror was a definite boost. Also, I still want to know the story behind the junk farm.
Biking all around the city of Madison today about 50 miles, hopefully the clouds of man eating locusts will be at a minimum, or at least tolerable.
Seriously it is a drag to slather the sunscreen on, THEN bug spray.
I would love to know what the deal is with the junk farm as well. Will bring the camera with me again, hopefully I will see a cougar or something.
Maybe you should go undercover with a tie-dyed biking jersey.
Ended up going 71 miles, it was beautiful. Report on odd things I saw in a few days.
