Baseball Pool Update 4

John's Yankees and Tampa were rained out.

Craig's Tigers get off the schneid with a slugfest victory over Toronto 10-9. Detroit put up a snowman in the bottom of the third to take a 8-0 lead. However their bullpen gave up a touchdown in the top of the eighth to make it close. Both teams pitching was shelled, although the starter for Detroit, Robertson went 5.2 innings only giving up 2 earned runs. Granderson goes 2 for 5 with five RBI and a homer for Detroit.

The Tribe beats the White Sox for the second straight time, 8-7. Garland only goes 5.1 innings for the Sox good for 5 earned runs, and the Sox folded after being ahead several times in the game. Michaels made a spectacular catch on the warning track to save the game for Cleveland. Sizemore went 2 for 6 with two RBI and a homer.

The Cubs got their first win of the year against the Reds, 4-1. Lilly goes a solid seven innings with only one earned run and he got an RBI. Ramirez went 3 for 5 with two runs scored.

The Dodgers avoided the sweep against my beloved Brewers, beating Milwaukee 5-4. The Dodgers scored 3 in the top of the eighth, spoiling an impressive debut for Jeff Suppan, who went seven innings giving up only two earned runs. Villanueva is the goat for the Brewers, costing Suppan and the team the victory.

The Mets do PS proud and sweep the Cardinals away for three straight, this time 10-0. Beltran goes 2 for 5 with 4 RBI, two runs scored and a homer. Maine goes a strong seven shutout innings and the Mets bullpen finishes off the redbirds. Serves them right, I won't be shedding any tears over this.

Boston takes it out on KC 7-1. Beckett goes only five innings but gets the win. Youkilis gets a homer in the seventh, and Boston put up a field goal in the top of the first getting all they need early.

So the standings:
1. PS Indy (Mets) 3 wins
2. Dan from Madison (Brewers) 2 wins
2. Snake (Indians) 2 wins
2. John (Yankees) 1 win
3. Graphix (Dodgers) 1 win
3. PSL Dave (Red Sox) 1 win
3. JohnnyJ (Cubs) 1 win
3. Craig (Tigers) 1 win
4. Carl from Chicago (White Sox) 0 wins
