With the title of this Blog you probably thought I meant either the Cubs or White Sox.
Nope, its those rascally Terrorists (Hamas, Al-Queda, Hezbollah) who just took the lead over the Good Guys (US) with the help of just every standing nation on this planet. I wrote about this subject several weeks back in my "Coming Attractions" blog. I really try to take care not to repeat a subject, but I'm really upset about this.
What the hell is going on here?
Let's see, Terrorists invade sovereign nation (Israel), kidnap two of its soldiers, lob hundreds, if not thousands of rockets from another Terrorist nation (Iran) into that sovereign nation and what's the reaction when that nation fights back in a hard-nosed fashion?
"We got to have a cease-fire" says Kofi (Appeaser) Annan. The United States has to put pressure on Israel to stop, hundreds of Lebanese are dying. We need peace !!!
And its not coming from the UN, its coming from every nation. The Europeans, the Russians, the Chinese, the other Arab countries are all bleating the same refrain, "We have to have peace!"
"Peace with whom" are you asking? With Lebanon? They didn't start this, Hezbollah did. To my knowledge, Hezbollah is not a country are they? But it seems that every nation on the face of the Earth is treating them like one.
What's worrisome here for America is that it looks like today, 5 years after 9/11, that there is no coalition to take up a fight to eliminate these terrorists. These countries treat terrorism as an "American Problem." I guess subway bombs in London and Madrid haven't got anybody to change their minds. Terrorists are to be treated like high blood pressure. With proper medication, it can be controlled.
Regarding the United Nations, American support of this carcass has got to end. Whether it be the Sudan, or Congo, or Lebanon. On and on and on. . . . The UN has failed in all of these endeavors, yet we continue to play this game that Security Council sanctions and votes make a difference. And who has suffered? Hundreds of thousands have died while UN diplomats eat Sweet and Sour Shrimp.
If I'm George Bush, I tell myself, "Just about everybody hates me right now, I might as well send 50,000 troops in to Lebanon to finish off Hezbollah once and for all."
Because if somebody doesn't start to shut down the terrorists, they'll keep running up the score until the game will be all but over.
