Obama As The "ONE"

Anybody who's in "in the know," has read extensively about Illinois' junior senator, Barack Obama over the past two years.

Time magazine put him on the cover last year as the "ONE" (no, I'm not talking about Neo from The Matrix) that America needs to lead us to the Promised Land. Its not really a "Red" or "Blue" America, its really a "Purple" one. Only Mr. Obama understands that, only he can bring us all together.

There's only one problem: in two years in the Senate, he hasn't done anything !!!

Now in today's age, people actually make livings on giving the impression that they work when they really don't do anything. We all know people like this. And it really bothers us because we know we work hard and yet "those people" manage to get by with no consequences.

Maybe I'm from the old school, but I really want my leaders to lead by example. America faces many problems today, Terrorism, Immigration, Social Security, etc. What better time than someone like Mr. Obama to propose working with President Bush to solve some of them. Americans, both Republicans and Democrats would respect him for leading on something like Immigration. More importantly, he would gain some trust from Americans. And, would set himself up for higher office if he so chooses.

But he speaks softly, smiles, stays calm. We have no idea where he stands on Immigration. And he knows this. And, he hopes that you don't care. He doesn't have to speak about solving problems, all he has to do is soothe.

Now, if you're reading this, you're probably think I'm picking on Mr. Obama unfairly, that there are other politicans (Our President, Democrats, and Republicans) that need to lead.

Perhaps you're right.

But if you're appointed by the Press as a Rock Star, sooner or later, you've got to put out a record that sells. Songs that appeal to all of the masses and has got everybody humming.

Go ahead Senator Obama: Name that tune.
