Let The Revolution Begin !

That's right, you've read the title to this post. Let the revolution begin !.

In Bolivia today, their new Leftist leader ordered soldiers into the Natural Gas
fields today to "Return them to the people!" President Evo Morales, who just
got back from Havana in a meeting with fellow Lefties Fidel and Hugo a few
days ago, decided that Exxon Mobil and BP will have to sign new contracts for
the production of natural gas to the "liking" of the Government or they can leave.

Now, for you older blog readers who know your history, in the 70's (the old days),
all an oil company exec who ran into any political problems in South America had
to do was pick up a phone to our CIA, who in no time, had a military junta in place
to take care of any problems. Nobody dared mess with America. These aren't the
old days. Military juntas and assasinations are out and more importantly, nobody
nowadays fears America.

How does this affect us? Somewhat. Because America relies on countries such
as Bolivia or Venezuela for some of our oil and gas, we basically have to keep our
mouth shut from the Leftist Three and all of their anti-American rhetoric. More
importantly, if America, Europe, or other South American countries tries to put the
squeeze on, they can rely on a new "Sugar Daddy," China, a country that is
desperate for natural resources and will pay any price to get them.

I am always fascinated by the poor in these countries. If they know anything
about Communism and how it oppreses human beings and their ability for free
speech and thought, that it would come automatically to them that it would be
rejected. But it is embraced. And its embraced as they listen to fiery-tongued
individuals who promise them free land and profits from oil fields.

This is where I expect our President to step up to the plate. Statements about
Democracy aren't to be thrown around when they are
convenient to use. Whether
it be Iraq, or China, or Bolivia, or Burma, America should stand with the cause of
Democracy and against tyrants who use Communism as a means to use the poor
and enrich themselves.

If not, we'll see more stories like this.
