New Toy - Blue Snowball Microphone

Well now! I just got in the mail my new microphone for podcasting, the Snowball by the Blue Microphone Company. It has a USB connection that you can see here, and it connected instantly to my computer with no software and worked right out of the box. Like I wish all computer peripheries did. Anyway, in a few weeks I will have another podcast for you and my speaking levels should be better and higher quality. As for the Gateway 10 year old microphone of death? It has gone to a better place - the round file.

I use the B.L.U.E. Snowball and was wondering how you like yours?

I have done a couple of podcasts with it now and have some thoughts. For what I do, I think that it was overkill. I bought it mainly for the convenience of plugging it directly into my computer, though so in that respect it is great. I just needed to upgrade from my oooold Gateway microphone and the snowball looked like a decent choice at the time. If I could have found a mike that had USB connectivity at half the price I would have bought that. Someone who is an audiophile may enjoy it more, if they are able to use its features more or, for instance, they play music. If you have any specific questions, just drop me an email - and thanks for giving my blog a look.
