Wildfires returning after the 2003 fire

We visited in 2003 and there were fires raging through the forests. We even saw a firefighter smoking a cigarette, that was a photo I should have kept :). The trees just stand there, all burned up, and then the flowers grow up in between. There is a sign when you enter the trail saying that the team members should spread out so that a single falling tree doesn't cause "multiple casualties" (their terminology).
